Experts at the Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Fair that began here on Friday pointed out that Indians had not stopped travelling and were increasingly becoming the focus of tourism-centric countries.
“Many countries like Nepal, Malaysia, Middle-East, Indonesia, Thailand, etc., have India on top of inbound countries. Last year, Thailand had one million tourists from India alone. This has tremendously increased the international focus on Indians in tourism. About 15 years ago, India had just one or two national tourism boards of countries operating here. Today, about 70 different countries have their national tourism desks here,” said Regional Director (South) Shoeb Samad.
