DELHI: Tourism New Zealand’s Ambassador for India Bollywood actor Sidharth Malhotra has touched down in Christchurch on his second visit to the country. He will visit Auckland, Rotorua, Waikato and Canterbury during his 10 -day trip. The idea will be to visit places he hasn’t been before. Malhotra will share his adventures with his followers back home.
Malhotra is Tourism New Zealand’s first Indian ambassador from India. The lead actor of Student of the Year, Hasee Toh Phasee, Ek Villain and Brothers is a self-made star who stands out from the crowd and has a massive following, particularly among young people. He has over 4.3 million followers on social, which is the highest following for a male star in his peer group.
Former Black Cap stars Brendon McCullum and Stephen Fleming were in Christchurch to greet Malhotra and will join him on the Canterbury leg of his visit. McCullum met Malhotra during the Prime Minister’s visit to India last month. Fleming had earlier accompanied him on activities during his highly successful visit last year.
“It feels great to be back to this beautiful country! The very start of my trip has been fantastic, I received such a warm welcome from Stephen and Brendon at the airport. I was ecstatic to see the children dance on my songs, it was a great surprise. I can’t wait to further explore New Zealand this time and have an amazing holiday,” said Malhotra.
