“We need around 500 acres of land and are buying it directly,” Roy said during a press conference here on Friday.

According to the Chairman, the Group is keen to develop a township in Dankuni, around 30-odd km west of Kolkata, at an expected cost of Rs 2,000 crore.

The township will be a “state-of-the-art” one with modern living amenities and come up on a 1,000-acre plot. “We are looking at the required land parcels,” he said.
