Tourists visiting Pune district could soon get to explore theme-based museums such as fort or weapon museums and tourism circuits centred around wine making, heritage, temples or bird sanctuaries. These initiatives have been included in the Rs 200 crore draft tourism plan for Pune district that was released on Friday.
The draft plan is a joint initiative of Pune collectorate and Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC). It awaits approval and suggestions by the district planning and development council (DPDC), after which it will be sent to MTDC’s head office in Mumbai for consent.
