Pune-Mumbai AC taxi ride to cost Rs 475 now

PUNE

Increase in expressway toll charges and diesel prices have pushed Pune-Mumbai-Pune taxi operators to revise fares for one way trip by Rs 50 per passenger. The new fares came into effect on April 1.

Passengers now have to shell out Rs 475 per trip for air-conditioned cab between Pune and Mumbai. The fare for the trip was Rs 425 earlier. Booking of entire AC cab now costs Rs 1,900 instead of Rs 1,700. The rates have been revised for non air-conditioned cabs as well and a single way journey now costs Rs 400 from Rs 350 earlier.

Taxi operators on Thursday said though the hike might impact passenger inflow, it was inevitable because of the rise in toll charges.
