Protesters resume battle to save Kothaguda reserve forest

HYDERABAD
Civil society members protesting the controversial eco-tourism project at the Kondapur reserve forest have alleged that fresh bids are being made to obtain environmental clearance for the venture, which they fear could spell doom for the area.

In their bid to shore up support for their protests, the activists met representatives of Lok Satta Party on Saturday and requested them to exert pressure on the Centre and state governments to resume possession of the reserve land and shelve the project. In return, they received a letter written by party legislator Jayaprakash Narayan to the ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) asking for shelving of the project.
