SRINAGAR
Come spring, the airliners make Kashmir an unaffordable tourist destination, thanks to the steep hike in fares by them.
Increasing the airfares, according to tourism players and frequent flyers, has almost now become a pattern with the airliners who “in the name of fares are looting the passengers and hitting Kashmir tourism sector the most.”
Presently, the airfare on Delhi-Srinagar sector starts from Rs 13,000 and goes up to Rs 21,000. While the airfare from Jammu to Srinagar costs over Rs 12,000.
On the contrary the airfare on Mumbai-Jeddah sector is just Rs 9,000 and Delhi-Dubai Rs 8,000.
