The district administration has arranged power boats to ferry people to Dhabaleswar shrine on Bada Osa on Saturday and Kartik Purnima on Sunday. The Mahanadi surrounds the Shiva shrine.
“We request people to take only registered and power boats to go to the shrine. Eighteen power boats have been provided and each person has to pay Rs 20. People coming from Athagarh and Dhenkanal can use the hanging bridge to the temple,” said sub-collector of Athagarh Trilochan Pradhan.We have banned boats used by local fishermen because it is unsafe for devotees, Pradhan added.
Power distribution officials have been asked to ensure uninterrupted power supply and PHED staff for sufficient water supply. Three first aid centres and two information centres have been set up around the shrine for visitors. The administration has installed CCTVs in and around the temple complex and banned use of polythene in the vicinity
