Omar to take up Hajj quota with centre


Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah will request government of India for enhancement of Hajj quota for Kashmir.

A government spokesman on Monday, June 10 quoted CM assuring the Private Tour Operators Association that he would take up the issue of enhancement of Hajj Quota  with the Centre so that the more prospective pilgrims could be accommodated for this year’s Hajj-e-Biatullah.

Abdullah said he will talk to Union minister for foreign affairs Salman Khurshid and highlight the need for enhancing the quota so that more people intending Hajj-2013 by private mode are accommodated.
