Now, flights from Goa to Malaysia, ASEAN countries

PANAJI

With an eye on capturing the tourist potential in Goa and in Malaysia, AirAsia Berhad launched a direct flight between Goa and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, through three weekly direct flights.

The direct flight, along with AirAsia’s wide network now makes it easier for Goans to fly to Australia, China, and US among other countries. The new route comes close on the heels of the direct flight from Visakhapatnam to Kuala Lumpur earlier in May.

Prior to the launch of the new flight, Goans looking to travel to Malaysia and beyond had to fly from Goa to either Mumbai or Bengaluru, and then take a connecting flight to their final destination. This not only ensured higher costs but also led to loss of time. The launch of a direct flight now makes it easier for Goans looking to travel abroad.

While a flight to Sydney, Australia, costs anywhere between Rs 86,000 to Rs 1.04 lakh on other airlines with a stopover at Mumbai and Singapore, the cost of the ticket on an AirAsia flight is a mere Rs 19,000 to Rs 33,000 per person with one stopover at Kuala Lumpur.
