MOT calls for seamless road travel

DELHI
Indian Tourism Ministry has called for seamless road travel in India.

Speaking at the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Indian Tourist Transporters Association in New Delhi, Parvez Dewan, Secretary at MoT said that his ministry was not asking for road taxes to be reduced, but rationalization of the multi tax structure and removal of highway barriers that hindered traffic.

“India is one country and there is should be no reason for the hurdles in travel. Collecting tax online or at one consolidated place should be a good idea to work upon,” Dewan stressed.

The Road Transport Ministry has also been requested to introduce special number plates for tourist taxis.
