A high-level meeting presided over by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on July 4 discussed the scope of promotion of tea tourism in West Bengal, particularly in north Bengal.
State secretariat sources said after the meeting that the government had taken special initiatives for the promotion of tea tourism.
If there was a minimum one-acre surplus land in any tea estate, the owner can develop infrastructure to attract tourists, subject to permission granted by concerned authorities including tourism department and environment department, they explained.
