Major fire at Naka hotel, six injured

A major fire broke out at Deep Awadh hotel (part of Deep Hotels) in Naka on early Wednesday, August 14 morning. Six persons were injured in the fire, though no loss of life was reported. Property worth lakhs was gutted. The hotel is located near the Naka police station. Most of the guests were asleep when fire was noticed at around 2.20am.

Vandana, a Delhi-based woman, suffered a leg fracture when she jumped from the hotel’s first floor to escape fire. The injured were admitted to Civil Hospital.

Guests staying on the first floor heard loud noises in the middle of the night. When they rushed out of the rooms, they saw room number 107 engulfed in flames. Panic-struck people rushed towards the staircase to escape from the hotel. The fire soon spread in the corridor.
