Mahbubnagar district, which has several important and ancient heritage sites in the state will now have a new Heritage Temple Tourism Circuit developed with an outlay of Rs 9.8 crore.
Buoyed by the increasing influx of tourists, particularly to various heritage sites, the ministry of tourism has renewed its efforts to improve the infrastructure at the heritage sites.
The ministry of tourism’s statistics indicate that Andhra Pradesh is the most sought after tourist destination. In 2012, as many as 206.8 million tourists had visited Andhra Pradesh.
In the past couple of years, there were proposals for the development of new heritage circuits apart from those which were already sanctioned by the Central government.
