Maha proposes facelift for Hatgad Fort

NASHIK
The Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC) has sent a proposal of Rs 21 crore to the ministry of tourism for the development of Hatgad Fort in Surganataluka, around 80 km from Nashik.

The development project includes renovation and repair of the fort and development of Dhanoli dam at Kalwan, around 70 km from Nashik.

The project has been proposed keeping in mind the influx of tourists during the forthcoming Kumbh Mela and also for the overall development of tourism there.

“We have a number of things in mind that could boost tourism at Hatgad fort situated on Saputara road. Many tourists from Gujarat flock the place because Saputara is located on the border of Maharashtra and Gujarat. We can promote Maharashtra extensively by undertaking this project,” said regional manager of MTDC Pradnya Bade-Misal.
