Your mobile phone will soon become your tour guide in Ahmedabad. For the first time in the country, heritage conservation specialist Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH)’s Ahmedabad chapter and the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) have joined hands to develop a mobile based map tool that will not only tell you the history of the place, but will also share interesting features of the building.
The tool will be open to visitors who want to share their experience at the monument and one can even post pictures. The tool is called ‘u-explore’ and offers detailed insights into buildings and popular legends in the city. The web based tool has a friendly interface that can even assist school children.
