Goa tourism development corporation (GTDC) which has been accorded with status of ‘special purpose vehicle’ for executing tourism-related projects, is in a tight spot due to slow flow of funds from the government.
After getting the new status, the GTDC announced a couple of infrastructure development projects to be carried out at popular tourist spots. The inflow of tourists, both domestic and foreign, has been swelling during the last three-four years.
While most tourists make a beeline to beaches there are hardly any facilities for them even as beach villages have expanded commercially.
