A good heavy rain has pushed rivers and streams to high levels throughout Himachal Pradesh. And with waterways running fast and hard, tourists are thronging recreational providers for water sports in the state.
However, with heavy rain since last 72 hours creating monsoon like situation, the district administration has acted with caution and banned river rafting, river crossing, canoeing and all other water sports in Kullu.
Beas, Parbati and their tributaries are flowing in a spate. Also, the speed with which the snow is melting has doubled due to rise in temperature. Rivers, which are flowing above the normal water level, are posing a threat to tourists who are thronging river banks for various water sports.
