The State-owned Kerala Tourism Development Corporation Hotels and Resorts (KTDC) will get a new Managing Director (MD) as the government has decided to shift N. Prashant from the post on his request following differences with KTDC chairman Vijayan Thomas. Mr. Prashant, who also holds the charge of Deputy Excise Commissioner and Additional Director, Employment and Training, will be replaced soon as the Cabinet has given the nod for shifting him from the KTDC. Official sources said Director of Tourism S. Harikishore would hold the additional charge of the MD till a new person is posted.
Mr. Prashant sought shifting from the KTDC following differences over awarding of the contract for catering at the Raindrops Business Hotel, Chennai, without following the procedures. The contract was tendered twice and the move was to award the contract without completing the tender formalities.
