Konark Festival from Dec 1

BHUBANESWAR
Konark Festival, Odisha tourism’s flagship event featuring classical dance and music, will kick off at the open air auditorium against the backdrop of Sun Temple at Konark on December 1. The five-day festival will showcase performances by eminent classical dance and music artistes from across India.

There will be International Sand Art Festival alongside the Konark Festival. The state government spends over Rs 1 crore for each festival, official sources said.

“We have been receiving a large number of queries from foreign as well as domestic tourists from across the globe. We have made it a ticketed show to check disruptive crowd, who spoilt the event last year, and are hopeful of having quality audience,” said managing director of Odisha Tourism Development Corporation Manoranjan Patnaik.
