The footloose in Karnataka are certainly a net-savvy lot. A recent study has revealed that the state is the first among its southern sisters when it comes to booking travel tickets online.
A study by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) shows the concept of online travel ticketing is witnessing a spurt in the country. In fact, the growth rate in online ticketing for bus journeys across India has been 185% between January and July this year.
As per the survey, January saw 2.5 lakh online tickets booked. The figure shot up to 7.2 lakh in July. Similarly, online railway ticket bookings grew by 43%: from 47 lakh in January to 67 lakh in July.
