Jet Airways has named a new CEO. Cramer Ball will take over as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, according to a statement released by the airline.
Ball’s appointment is subject to receipt of all the requisite government/regulatory approvals including his security clearance. A highly respected aviation professional, Cramer Ball has almost two decades of senior level experience in the aviation industry and completed, earlier this year, a two year term as the Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, where he led a major restructuring programme that returned the airline to profitability in 2012 and 2013, the statement added.
Gaurang Shetty, Director and Manager, will continue to lead Jet Airways till the requisite approvals are obtained and Cramer Ball assumes charge as the CEO of Jet Airways.
Jet’s last CEO, Garry Kenneth Toomey, had quit in mid- January, barely seven months after taking charge of the airline. The airline recently posted record losses.
Cramer recently completed a two-year term as the Chief Executive Officer of Air Seychelles, where he led a major restructuring programme which returned the airline to profitability in 2012 and 2013. Air Seychelles is a strategic partner of Etihad Airways, which has bought a 24 per cent stake in Jet Airways.
