DELHI: Andre A Gomez is moving on from the position of the head of operations for India at Hilton, said sources familiar with the development.
In an emailed response to The Economic Times’ queries, a Hilton spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Andre Gomez will be taking a new position within Hilton later this year, having helped the company establish itself on India’s Great Place to Work listings in recent years. We are currently recruiting a new leader to take Hilton forward on our exciting journey in this market.”
Sources said Gomez, who was appointed as the head of operations for India last year will continue in his role for the next three to four months till the company zeroes in on a successor.
“The mandate is to preferably look for an Indian professional for the position this time,” said a source who did not wish to be identified.
Currently, Hilton operates five brands in India including Conrad Hotels & Resorts, Hilton Hotels & Resorts, Double Tree by Hilton, Hilton Garden Inn, and Hampton by Hilton.
Prior to India, Gomez served in a range of leadership positions in general hotel and food and beverage operations across China, Thailand, Bangladesh and Australia. He also served as the general manager of Hilton Beijing Wangfujing, China.
