DELHI: Minister of Railways Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu flagged off train number 15069/15070 Gorakhpur-Badshahnagar (Lucknow) Express (daily) through video-conferencing at Rail Bhawan today.
The Gorakhpur Lucknow train will have an Ac chair car, 12 second sitting car coaches and 5 general coaches.
Prabhu said that Uttar Pradesh is a big and populous state and requires better railway network. He added that Gorakhpur is a big city which has historic importance too, this new intercity train service will help Gorakhpur to grow in social and economic terms.
Minister of State for Railways Rajen Gohain said that the rail is the cheapest mode of travel in India. Railways intends to expand rail network throughout the length and breadth of the country so that every citizen can benefit from it. He said that Railways will introduce some more new trains services soon.
