Goa tourism department targeting 5 mn tourists by 2016

The number of tourists coming to Goa has increased during the past two years and the state tourism department is targeting 5 million tourists in Goa by 2016.

“This is the goal of Goa government,” tourism minister Dilip Parulekar stated while speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function of 17th national seminar organized by national media foundation, New Delhi at Institute Menezes Braganza hall Panaji on Saturday. He also informed the audience that the number of tourists coming to Goa has increased in the past two years.

“Now that Goa’s member of Parliament Shripad Naik, who knows what tourism is, has been given the ministry for tourism in the central government, we can hope for bright days for Indian tourism.” said Parulekar.
