The delay in carrying out desilting work in River Sal on time and non-implementation of a plan to start river cruises in other rivers has been highlighted by Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG).
In its report for the year ending March 2012, CAG pointed out that the government allotted Rs 2 crore in the budget during 2011-12 for the desilting of River Sal.
But as the work could not be completed by the captain of ports, the amount was surrendered and no fresh provision was made in budget 2012-13.
