The state government has been compelled to drop the much-hyped about convention centre project as it failed to execute it even three years after it was sanctioned.The state high-power monitoring committee (HPMC) for tourism projects, in a meeting last week, decided to drop the project and surrender the funds to the Union tourism ministry.The HPMC nonetheless decided to re-submit the proposal to the Centre for constructing a convention center of a larger capacity at Merces.
