PANAJI: Goa and Chinese province of Zhejiang expressed willingness to boost tourism ties between the two regions.
“Goa Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar proposed furthering tourism ties with China during an interaction with Zhu Chen, Mayor of Lishui city in Zhejiang province, and his delegation in Panaji,” a state tourism department spokesman said on May 10, reports PTI.
The ten-member delegation, led by Zhu, is in Goa as part of a four-day official visit to India.
“Lishui, a tourism hub in Eastern China, is haunted by Indian travellers in large numbers,” the spokesman said.
Ajgaonkar and Zhu “expressed eagerness to boost tourism ties between the two regions”, he said.
“Zhu said he was overwhelmed by the warmth and hospitality extended to him and his delegation by Goa Tourism,” the spokesman said.
“He described Goa as a well developed state and was mesmerised by its natural beauty,” he added.
