Wayanad Heritage Museum to get facelift

The two-decade-old Wayanad Heritage Museum at Ambalavayal, a major tourism destination, will soon get a facelift.

The renovation works would be carried out by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) at an estimated cost of Rs.58 lakh, including Rs.40 lakh provided by the State Tourism Department for restoration of the museum, and Rs.18 lakh by the DTPC for beautification works of the building, K.G. Raju, District Collector and chairman of DTPC, told The Hindu .

The restoration works include documentation of the antiques and artefacts, collection of artefacts, and research.
