GCZMA’s measures for ‘order on beaches’

PANAJI
The Goa coastal zone management authority (GCZMA) recommended a slew of measures to protect sand dunes and maintain order on beaches by beach shack operators. The tourism department had a consultation with the GCZMA on Saturday morning at the Secretariat in Porvorim over the Beach Shack Policy 2013-16 which was released two weeks ago.

The GCZMA recommended that motor vehicles should not be allowed on beaches and paved pathways over sand dunes leading to shacks should not be permitted. Other measures include deck beds not being allowed in excess of the permitted limit, and seeing that sanitation is maintained at beaches.
