CALGARY: Rendez-vous Canada 2017 or RVC2017 is special this year. Canada is marking its 150th year, and most in the travel trade agree that the country is finally being perceived as not as just cold but cool.
A record number of arrivals in 2016 marked an 11 per cent growth, and Destination Canada has set out ambitious goals to make that happen.
With the largest ever event, RVC2017 is a busy event indeed, with about 30,000 appointments in full flow. The BMO Centre, next to the Calgary Stampede grounds, is full of colourfully attired booth, arranged largely by provinces.
