Funds allocated for tribal tourism circuit in Chhattisgarh

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh has received Rs 100 crore from the Union Tourism Ministry for developing a tribal tourism circuit in the state reports the Times of India.

Places to be included in the tribal circuit are Jashpur, Kunkuri, Maipaat, Ambikapur, Maheshpur, Ratanpur Kurdur, Sarodha Dadar, Gangrel, Kondagaon, Nathiyanwagaon, Jagdalpur, Chitrakoot and Thirathgarh.Under the project, ethnic tourist village will be developed at Jashpur, Ambikapur and Sarodadhar and eco-ethnic tourism development activities would be taken up at seven other places.

The state plans to implement the “Adivasi theme” in the tribal districts and the programmes. An amount of Rs 32 lakh had been released to construct Tourism Information Centre at Jagdalpur. Besides, master plans are being formulated to beautify Lamni Park and road-crossings.
