Expert tips on tiger photography

Long queues of jeeps, packed with tourists busy taking snaps of tigers, is a regular sight during the tourism season in any national park in India.

But is getting the image at any cost a valid ambition? Are photographers and publishers ethical enough? Well, conservationist Bittu Sahgal says, “You must not merely respect your subject, but protect them too.”

As part of the country-wide conservation campaign ‘Leave Me Alone’, Sahgal – the editor of Sanctuary Asia which is one of the organizers of the campaign – will be visiting the city on August 2 for a free-wheeling session that promises to go beyond ethics to show how simple tools like phone cameras can play a key role in conservation.
