Boasting a population of 3.1 million, Jaipur is the capital of the Rajasthan province in Northern India and ranks as the country’s eighth largest economy. The ‘Pink City’, as Jaipur is often described, is also home to some of India’s most important heritage sites and has emerged as a flourishing tourist destination. Etihad Airways will operate the daily service to Jaipur with Airbus A320 aircraft, the carrier said in a statement.
James Hogan, Etihad’s president and CEO, said: “India is one of the world’s fastest-growing destinations, and a key market in the growth strategy of Etihad Airways. We are excited to introduce Jaipur into our network, a move that will create significant benefits for our passengers, as wellA as the economies of India and the UAE.”
Earlier this month, Etihad said it has doubled the number of flights and tripled the number of seats it operates to the Indian cities of Mumbai and New Delhi, adding wide-bodied Airbus jets on both routes.
