MALAPPURAM
The Malabar Food festival being organized by the district tourism promotion council (DTPC) in association with the Malappuram Koottayma at Kottakkunnu in Malappuram town will conclude on Sunday.
So far around 4,000 people have visited the stalls of the 10-day-long expo, said the coordinator of the expo P M Uvais.
A variety of food items ranging from ‘Upplittathu’ to the Arabian food item ‘Mathbak’, which are not common in Malabar, are being featured in the food expo.
Mouth-watering delicacies are being exhibited in 18 different huts of the expo. While, the varieties of chicken dishes from Malabar are being exhibited at ‘Kozhi Peedika’ of the expo, the ‘Irachi Peedika’ displays beef dishes and ‘Meen Chappa’ for fish varieties also attracts the visitors, said Uvais. Stalls for vegetarian dishes and dosa are other major highlights of the expo.
