e-visas, new plans to boost Goa tourism

Not to be left behind by other pro-active ministries, the tourism ministry is racheting up its presence with a large number of tourism sector announcements.

Developing Goa, one of the popular tourist states in India, is high on the agenda of the Indian government. With a view to boosting tourism in the picturesque state, the government has proposed an e-visa facility to lure foreign tourists, along with providing a luxury train for domestic travellers.

The announcement came after Union Tourism and Culture Minister Shripad Yesso Naik met with Goa’s Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, and Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar.
