Delhi’s T-3 takes a dive again

DELHI
A few hours of rain left IGI Airport’s Terminal 3 waterlogged once again on Saturday, July 20 and passengers had to exit through the elevated departure terminal till the water was drained out.

The downpour resulted in one flight getting diverted and a few go-arounds . As both arrivals and departures slowed down during the course of the storm, some flights were delayed by 30 minutes to a couple of hours in the evening.

Palam recorded 70.9mm rain between 11.30am and 2.30pm. This was sufficient to flood a part of the arrival section. “There was ankle-deep water outside the arrival section and initially passengers had to wade through it to get out of the terminal. While the main terminal was not affected, water reached the food court area in the visitors’ section. Eventually, arriving passengers were guided to the departure terminal through the domestic arrival area and made to exit from there,” said an airport source.
