Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Sunday said the Chambal region has immense tourism potential and that his government was working to promote it.
“We are going to bring in lions from Gir in Gujarat to Kuna Palpur in Sheopur district of Chambal. The Ghadiyal breeding centre in the region can turn out to be a great tourist-puller. The government has plans to develop the ravines of Chambal and make it a place worth living,” Chouhan told the participants at the India Today Group’s conclave on Ubharta (Rising) Chambal in Gwalior.
He said an industrial corridor (Morena-Gwalior-Shivpuri-Guna) was coming up in the Chambal region for which land has been identified. “We want to develop entrepreneurship in the region,” he added.
“We want to produce industrialists like the Tatas, the Birlas and the Ambanis,” he said. “We are giving soft loans to young people to start their business across the state,” Chouhan said.
