ASI to restore Kedarnath on lines of Shore temple

LUCKNOW
The strategy used by the Archaeological Survey of India team to restore Shore temple in Mahabalipuram would provide the line of action for restoration of Kedarnath temple.

“The problem in Kedarnath resembles the challenge that came our way while restoring the Shore Temple of Mahabalipuram. While in the south, it was the Bay of Bengal that did the damage, in Kedarnath, the fast moving Mandakini river that gushes into the temple from the rear end ravaged the shrine. We will have to find a solution to the phenomenon of water flowing in from behind,” said Dr BR Mani, head of the ASI team which reached Uttrakhand to inspect the affected site on Sunday.
