VIJAYAWADA: After campaigns like Let’s Vizag and Go Konaseema to promote the respective places, Andhra Pradesh Tourism has now embarked on yet another campaign, which centres around festivals celebrated in the state, reports The Hindu.
September and October are festival seasons when people celebrate Durga Puja, Dasara and Deepavali. This is the period when schools remain closed encouraging families to make travel plans, tour places and explore new locations.
Cashing in on the people’s holidaying mood, AP Tourism is leaving no stone unturned to attract them to the state by projecting the cities of Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada and Rajamahendravanam in the best possible light.
The department is targeting sizeable tourists from neighbouring states such as Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and West Bengal. Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Surat are also on the priority list of the Tourism authorities since a large number of people in these places are known to travel to other states for holidaying.
To make this event bigger and better, the department has planned a series of events for seven days at a stretch at the three places (Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Rajamahendravaram) to augment the element of experiential tourism.
Chandanpur lighting, tubri show, projection mapping, drums of India and cultural performances will be some of the highlights.
Tour packages categorised under three star, four star and five star, have been designed for various sections of people and authorities are bringing into play digital media to reach out to wider range of tourists.
