Andhra to make most of monsoon

HYDERABAD
Water bodies are brimming with water in most parts of the state thanks to abundant rains due to active monsoon.

One such body is Majeera river, a tributary to the Godavari, that originates in Maharashtra and flows through Karnataka before merging into the Godavari in Andhra Pradesh. The Manjeera reservoir near Sangareddy in Medak district, the principal drinking water source to the state capital Hyderabad, and the Singoor reservoir, from where the reservoir near Sangareddy gets the Manjeera water, are now full to the brim following copious rains in the past few days. Since several people would be interested to see the two water bodies, which are nearer Hyderabad, the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) has decided to introduce two new Monsoon Tour packages from the next weekend, that is July 26.

FIRST TOUR: The first tour of Hyderabad-Manjeera-Singoor-Anantagiri-Hyderabad will be of one-day duration. The tourist will be taken in an APTDC bus from Hyderabad first to the Manjeera where they can see the clear water of the river, said to be sweetest in the state. One can also watch various kinds of birds fly over the river from the nearest Manjeera Wildlife Sanctuary. No t just that. The reservoir is home to a vast number of crocodiles and the wild life sanctury is basically a crocodile sanctuary.
