Luxury buses of the AP Tourism Development Corporation, which were inaugurated 10 days back amid much ceremony, are not ferrying tourists. Instead, the buses are gathering dust at a government yard at Lower Tank Bund.
The reason: They have not been registered yet. The APTDC had purchased the vehicles- 18 non-AC hi-tech buses and six Tata and two SML-Isuzu AC mini buses to improve tour promotions, package and destination tours.
They were inaugurated hurriedly on October 30 even before their papers were sent for registration.
Insiders indicate that it will take some time before these buses can hit the road.
