Andhra govt to set up tourism university

The Andhra Pradesh chief minister, N Chandrababu Naidu, has directed the tourism department to examine the possibility of setting up a travel and tourism university in the state on the lines of the one in New Zealand.

The varsity can offer courses on tourism, healthcare, cooking, transport, skill development and training for guides and hospitality services, the CM said at a review meeting with officials at the his camp office in Hyderabad on Tuesday, according to the Times of India.

On the occasion, the chief minister also emphasised the need for world-class convention centres and directed officials to prepare a blueprint for setting up major convention centres at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam and Tirupati.
