DELHI: AirAsia India is launching twice daily direct flights between Ranchi, New Delhi and Kolkata.
AirAsia is also offering tickets on these routes starting from an all-inclusive Rs. 1,799, reports NDTV Profit.
AirAsia India – which is a joint venture between Tata Sons and Malaysian airline group AirAsia – will connect Kolkata-Ranchi and Ranchi-New Delhi with the double daily flights.
AirAsia India has started its “new innings” in Kolkata and Ranchi, the airline – which competes with the likes of Air India, IndiGo, Jet Airways and SpiceJet – said on microblogging site Twitter.
Under a separate promotional scheme, AirAsia India is also offering all-inclusive fares starting from Rs. 1,249 on flights to destinations including Bengaluru, Kochi, Goa, Hyderabad, Delhi and Pune.
Bookings for this AirAsia India offer can be made till April 23, 2017, the airline said on its website. AirAsia India’s summer sale is applicable on travel till September 30, 2017 and “fares are not available during embargo period”, it added.
AirAsia offers low-cost flights to over 120 destinations across Asia and Australia. Its Indian joint venture – AirAsia India – currently flies to 15 destinations with its three hubs in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Kolkata.
Domestic air passenger traffic surged nearly 16 per cent year-on-year to 86.55 lakh in February, according to data from aviation regulator DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation). Rival airlines such as Jet Airways, SpiceJet and IndiGo are also offering discounted tariffs.
