Air India launches revamped mobile app

DELHI: Indian national carrier Air India has launched a new mobile application with updated features to enhance its e-commerce platform.  The new app has been developed by SITA and built on their iTravel platform.

Air India chief Ashwin Lohani said that although Air India had a mobile app, the customer experience was not good. “This mobile app provides Air India the right tool to access a growing passenger market that is connected both in India and beyond.”

The new app offers customers the ability to book and pay for a flight and fully manage bookings from customer’s mobile device, including scanning passport securely, select seats, making changes in intinerary, buying additional services including meal, tracking the flight timings, baggages, etc.

Maneesh Jaikrishna, Vice President- India Subcontinent, SITA made a presentation on the mobile app.  Jaikrishna said that the new application will address all needs of a tech savvy traveller and will take all the stress out of air travel.
