DELHI: Air Canada’s Vancouver-Delhi-Vancouver service started its first flight from Vancouver to Delhi on October 22. Vancouver is the second destination for Air Canada to connect with Delhi. They reinstated the Toronto-Delhi service last November.
The aircraft feature 29 International Business Class lie-flat seat suites, 21 Premium Economy and 247 Economy Class seats, with upgraded in-flight entertainment at every seat.
For now , the service is a seasonal one and will last till April 2017. Air Canada will aim to make it a regular round-the-year service depending on the response and financial viability, said the airline.
Speaking to media in Delhi, Kevin Howlett, SVP – Regional Markets & Government Relations, Air Canada said that there was a lot of interest in both countries’ business communities to see the service sustain and become a daily year round service.
Howlett said that new route opening was a ‘huge investment and commitment’ on the part of the airline. The direct service cuts down travel time by eight hours. It also offers seamless access and connectivity to travellers to the US as Air Canada connects 55 cities in the US through both Toronto and Vancouver.
